School buses are a very safe way to get to school. Every day, drivers and students work together to make sure everyone arrives safely. Here’s how you can help!
Before You Board
Arrive Early: Get to the bus stop at least five minutes before the bus arrives.
Stand Back: Stay a few big steps away from the curb to stay safe.
Wait for the Signal: Wait until the bus stops completely and the driver signals it's okay to board.
Cross Carefully: If you need to cross the street, always walk in front of the bus and wait for the driver's signal.
🚌 On the Bus
Sit Down: Find your seat and stay seated while the bus is moving.
Keep Quiet: Use your indoor voice so the driver can focus on the road.
Stay Calm: Keep your hands, feet, and belongings to yourself.
Follow Directions: Listen to the bus driver and follow their instructions.
🚸 Getting Off the Bus
Wait for the Bus to Stop: Don't get up until the bus has come to a complete stop.
Look Both Ways: Before crossing the street, look left, right, and left again.
Stay in Sight: Make sure the driver can see you before you cross.
Avoid the Danger Zone: Never walk behind the bus. Always cross in front of it.
