Highland Electric Fleets has secured a new $75 million investment to support the continued expansion of electric school buses and charging infrastructure across the United States. The funding will help the company work with more school districts and communities as they transition from diesel-powered buses to cleaner electric transportation.
Company officials said the investment will support additional electric bus deployments, charging projects, and energy-related services that help school districts adopt new technology without large upfront costs. Highland's electrification model combines vehicles, charging equipment, and operational support into long-term service agreements.
The company currently has more than 1,000 electric school buses under contract and operates projects in dozens of states. Leaders say the new funding will help accelerate the growth of electric student transportation while providing school districts with more predictable operating costs.
