Taos Municipal Schools in New Mexico has signed up for the state's new pilot project, which will bring an electric school bus to the district for a free, short-term test. The bus — built by GreenPower Motor Company — and its charging system will be provided by the state, so the district doesn't pay anything during the trial.
This pilot will help Taos — and possibly other districts — understand how electric buses perform in everyday school-bus service: from regular student routes to charging in colder weather. It’s a big step toward cleaner air, quieter rides, and more sustainable school transportation.
